The term “detailing” is often misunderstood and confused with the more basic service of valeting. Valeting involves cleaning the exterior and interior to remove visible dust, dirt, and grime, leaving the surfaces clean and shiny. However, incorrect washing techniques during valeting can cause paint damage and surface imperfections.

At TMS, we go beyond simple cleaning. We not only repair the damage caused by improper washing but also enhance your vehicle to achieve a "better than new" finish. We believe that “the art of making a car beautiful is time.” This encompasses not only the time spent meticulously caring for your car but also the time invested the expertise, knowledge and skills necessary to deliver exceptional results. We believe above all in delivering the service that matches the standard of the cars we are privileged to work with and take every care to ensure we enhance your vehicle to the highest possible standard.
Improper cleaning of a vehicle can lead to significant damage to the paintwork. When dirt, dust, and grime are not correctly removed, the cleaning process can grind these particles into the paint, causing noticeable damage. Sponges, often reused on multiple vehicles, collect dirt and grit, leading to defects known as “swirl marks.” Incorrect washing techniques can also cause component damage. Harmful acidic products, designed for cleaning concrete, are sometimes used to clean wheels and lower sections of cars. These products can cause rusted brake callipers, wheel nuts, exhaust tips, and brake disc surrounds.

Valeting and detailing companies may offer a polish or machine polish service but often the products, processes, and techniques used in these do more harm than good. You will see that they result in circular scratches and visible grooves in the vehicle’s top coat. The use of very abrasive compounds and improper rotary polishing machines can severely damage the paint and frequently remove parts of the cars clear coat creating holograms and buffer trails.
Sadly yes! Close inspection of new cars will often reveal imperfections in the top coat through incorrect removal of the factory applied wax and protective wrapping causing paint imperfections such as swirling or micro scratches. Our service will bring the car to the standard you expect.
